Experience Palm Springs in Frank Sinatra's footsteps
Indian Canyons Golf Resort
Indian Canyons Golf Resort was known as Frank Sinatra’s favorite golf course. At the time it opened as Canyon Country Club in 1961, his handicap was in the low double-digits. Today, Palm Springs is a sprawling desert golf mecca with more than 100 courses. About 40 of then are open for public.
Sinatra’s Grave Site
Frank Sinatra was born Francis Albert Sinatra in Hoboken, New Jersey, in 1915, but when he died at the age of 82 in 1998, he was buried close to his beloved desert retreat at Desert Memorial Park in Cathedral City. Lyrics from "The best is yet to come", one of his most famous songs, is carved on his tombstone.
“Sinatra on Saturday” Tour
The three-hour guided mini-bus tour takes you to Movie Colony, the neighborhood in Palm Springs, where many of the movie stars of the Golden Age such as Cary Grant, Bing Crosby and Marilyn Monroe lived just few blocks from each other. You will also see ‘The Compound’, Sinatra’s home since the mid-1950s until three years before his death in 1995. The tour starts on Saturdays at 9:30 AM. It operates through April.
